Contact Music reports that "JULIAN LENNON refused to attend the premiere of his new documentary-style film - because of society's obsession with celebrity. Lennon, the 43-year-old son of late BEATLES legend JOHN LENNON, stunned audiences expecting to see him at the Monaco Film Festival screening earlier this week (begs11DEC06). A source tells British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, "Everyone waited for Julian to turn up at the showing of THE GATHERING: RETURN OF THE WHALE DREAMERS, which attacks the Japanese whale industry, but there was no sign of him. "Eventually he sent a message via the director explaining his absence: 'Society is obsessed with superficiality and celebrity, so it is more important for me to be there in spirit if not in person.' - Click Here for more information on "THE GATHERING" film's history.
"The Gathering" director, Kim Kindersley says that they are seeking distribution rights and are hoping to have the soundtrack ready in January and the Film in cinemas by March/April - Thanks to John Bezzini

New Julian Song recorded by the Blah Blah's
Some of you may remember a band named Blah, Blah mentioned in Julian's April 2001 Newsletter. A new Julian Lennon song has been included on Blah Blah's CD The song "Spinnin Round" was given to the band by Jules, who is a great fan and supporter. It was recorded by Blah Blah last year in South of France. This is the only recording of the song, which Jules gave specially to the band, and is included on their CD "Telitlikeitis."
The Blah Blah are regulars at Julian's local bar in Monaco - The Cafe Grand Prix. He has played with them on the tiny stage and appreciates the intimacy of the venue.
The photo to the left was taken about 5 years ago at La Rascasse. Julian is a regular visitor to this famous bar in the port of Monaco. There's always a great crowd to see Blah Blah when they perform. The band usually goes on after midnight and plays 3 x 45 min sets of covers and some original material.
