I Don't Wanna Know
Not only is the song very Beatles, but the video is a parody of the Beatles done with a fictional band called the Butlers who are Ken, Hector, Bingo, Daisy and special guest Sin Jagoolies... On the 21st of October in 1998, on an Australian national talk show called "The Panel," Julian said that he had asked "The Rutles" to appear in the video for "I Don't Wanna Know" and that they had been interested in doing it but were unable to because Eric Idle was busy in America working on a film project, hence he created "The Butlers" for the role.
The video was filmed on July 27 & 28, 1998 by Anthony Levine. It starts with a parody of the Beatle's Command Performance with the girls screaming, the Butlers on stage and Julian up in the balcony... The Butlers leave the stage, crawl through several cars while a bobby, AKA Julian, holds back the girls.. They then head to "The Bombay Cottage" where Sin Jagoolies hands them a "Mystic Mongul" menu in which they point out the prominent letters "LSD"... After "tea" they have a psychedelic trip and head to double decker bus chartered by our very own Julian then it's off to press conferences and "Fabby Road" where a long black haired woman runs over Bingo... Finally back to the concert Jules is found drinking in the balcony and the credits are run... a very hilarious video to say the least.
